Costa Mesa, California is a very dynamic community that is proud to be known as the action sports capital of the world. No wonder it’s easy to stay active in this town! Costa Mesa is also known as a hot spot for tennis as the home of several exciting USTA (United States Tennis Association) tennis events for kids, teens and adults to compete in that include the fun annual Costa Mesa Summer Junior Classic for advanced tennis players with divisions of Boys’ & Girls’ Singles & Doubles and Boys’ & Girls’ 10 & Under Singles.

The match format is best two out of three sets and follows regular tennis scoring. A ten point match tie break will be played in lieu of the third set. Also, all doubles matches will be an eight game pro set and a twelve point tie break at seven all in games. The Pro Penn Marathon is the official tennis ball for the tennis tournament.

The seeding criteria that is used will be the Southern California Standings List, the Universal Tennis Rating and the USTA Rating System. The top seed is the tennis player that the tournament committee decides is the strongest player in the event. Entry to this tournament is open to all USTA members. Join in on the fun!
