About Luis

Hello my name is Luis and I am a fun, local Irvine tennis coach with over 15 years of playing experience and over 5 years of teaching experience! I’ve been playing tennis since I was about 5 years old and started to play competitively and more seriously when I was 8 years old. I have played through the USTA tournament system and played for my high school tennis team (University High School) at the varsity level starting my freshman year. We won a CIF open division championship my senior year of high school which was awesome!

I am now currently the captain of my college team at Irvine Valley College where I also go to school as a sophomore. More recently my college partner and I qualified for a 25K Pro Tournament in doubles in Calabasas, we played through the qualifier tournament which we won and got a wildcard for the main draw of the tournament. We lost in the first round to the #2 seeds who eventually ended up winning the tournament. As for my coaching experience, I started coaching when I was in high school where I started to coach at summer camps for ages 5-13. I also was hitting a lot with younger juniors where I wasn’t coaching as much but I was a hitting partner instead. As I got more experience, I started to teach older kids and even some adults.

I am offering fun private tennis lessons, semi-private tennis lessons, group tennis lessons and hitting only sessions for all ages (kids, teens, adults, seniors) and for all skill levels (beginner, intermediate, advanced). So whether you need to work on some specifics like your forehand, backhand, volley, serve, service return, overhead, drop shot, approach shot, footwork, singles strategy or doubles strategy-I would be more than happy to help you out with your tennis game!

I teach tennis lessons in the Irvine area at the Irvine Valley College tennis courts but I will also travel up to 15 miles to a court near you.

Private Tennis Lessons (1 Player): $60 Per Hour
Semi-Private Tennis Lessons (2 Players): $40 Per Hour Each
Group Tennis Lessons (3+ Players): $30 Per Hour Each
Hitting Only Sessions (1 Player): $50 Per Hour

*Please note that if you are interested in semi-private tennis lessons (2 players) or group tennis lessons (3+ players), you will first need to find a friend(s) to take tennis lessons with you before contacting me.
