About Irvine Tennis Coach Jason

Hi my name is Jason and I am a fun, local Irvine tennis coach with over 6 years of playing experience and over 4 years of teaching experience! I’m a tennis instructor who operates near the Irvine Spectrum Center. I specialize in private lessons for new students of all ages, especially those from non-athletic backgrounds (such as academics, gamers, thrill-seekers) looking for a lifestyle change for fitness and/or social reasons. When people ask me how many years I’ve been playing, one of my favorite responses is to invite them to join me on the tennis courts to hit around. “…I’ll tell you after,” and when they do, they usually end up raising more questions! I bring a fresh approach to instruction influenced by my prior experiences as an educator, guide & performer from other fields of work. One of my college students once said,“Who are you? You talk like a professor!”

Fun Fact: I have a strong educational background rich in philosophy, but since taking up the great game of tennis, I would rather play a tiebreak set than discuss moral decision-making. Both may have their own sets of rules and both involve constructing points, but only tennis has a conclusive end. For me, what began as a hobby has been cultivated into a devotional practice. My tennis game continues to evolve as my self-discovery meets quality control through friendly challenges from all comers. On the court, I have a tennis presence that motivates others to play more and also play better, and some to avoid playing me altogether. I invite you, or anyone you know who might be interested in embarking on a tennis journey, consider me as your guide. Like any journey in life, it will challenge you, surprise you and if you commit, it may even transform you. If you still need some persuading, many of my former students have found themselves to be more confident, sociable, and self-motivated…some after just one lesson. Thank you for your consideration!
