About Irvine Tennis Coach Jimmy
Hello my name is Jimmy and I am a fun, local Irvine tennis coach with well over 35 years of teaching experience! I am also a PTR Certified Tennis Professional. I have been playing intensely ever since I was 11 spanning over 40 years. I’m from Michigan & was ranked 59th in our section back in 1987 and was ranked #2 in the Midwest Men’s Open division. I played college tennis for Western Michigan University and my last year there I played #2 singles & #1 doubles with my partner Carl DeBeer. I started teaching part time when I was 16 and started coaching full time when I was just 27. I have had the fortune of being mentored by professional coaches such as Oscar Wegner and Bill Adams where I learned the modern game.
