Hello my name is Michael and I’m a local Redlands tennis coach with over 37 years of playing experience and over 20 years of teaching experience! I am also a RSPA Certified Tennis Professional. I was formerly the Head Tennis Coach for Oneonta. Before coaching at Pacific Lutheran, I served as the Assistant Tennis Coach for Mesa Community College in Arizona where I led the practices, recruited student-athletes and enhanced the overall educational development of the students. In 2020, I coached a player to the runner-up in the Arizona State Championships at Notre Dame Prep. I’ve also worked with the top junior players in the Southwest at the Players Academy in Scottsdale, Arizona with 5 of those players going on to play at the collegiate level-4 of which played Division 1 and one played Division 3 tennis. From 2009-2011, I was the Head Tennis coach at St. Pius X High School in Kansas City, Missouri. While at St. Pius, I guided the Warriors to a 56-4 record. Additionally, I created and implemented a workout and injury prevention program that collegiate coaches then adopted for their teams. I was the primary Head Tennis Professional at the Clayview Country Club in Kansas City, Missouri bringing in new members and maintaining the courts and equipment. Back in college, I was a 7 time All-St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) selection at Westminster College and was named to the SLIAC All-Decade Team from 2000-2009. I still continue to play competitively today & I am one of the nation’s top tennis players in my age group. I teach tennis lessons in the Redlands area but I will also travel up to 10 miles to a tennis court that is conveniently located close to you!
