Hello my name is Daniel and I’m a fun, local Ocala tennis coach with over 43 years of playing experience and over 35 years of teaching experience! I started playing tennis very seriously at the age of 12. I then competed on the USTA (United States Tennis Association) junior circuit in the state of Florida until the age of 18. I achieved a Top 50 ranking in Florida and was also ranked #2 in high school doubles my senior year. After high school, I received a scholarship to play for the University of West Florida. I moved to West Palm beach after college and began teaching tennis at a country club. I taught tennis for five years over in the Palm Beach area at several different clubs before I moved back to my home town of Daytona Beach. I spent the next 27 years teaching for the cities of Holly Hill, South Daytona and Daytona before moving to the Ocala area. I have taught around 25,000 hours of tennis lessons to virtually all levels of players with the exception of the professional tour. As an adult tennis player, I competed in local men’s open league teams throughout my 20’s and 30’s. I achieved a NTRP (National Tennis Rating Program) 5.5 in doubles and finished runner up in the men’s state 35 and over championship tournament. I teach tennis lessons here in the Ocala area at the College of Central Florida, Coehadjoe Park and North Lake Community Park (Umatilla) but I will also travel up to 20 miles to a tennis court located near you!
