The nine outdoor courts at Bear Branch Park are the home of several 10 and Under Tennis Tournaments held throughout the year that are part of The Woodlands Junior Development Tennis Tournament Series. The divisions of the tournaments include Red Ball Beginner, Red Ball Intermediate, Orange Ball Beginner, Orange Ball Intermediate and Orange Ball Advanced. The series provides good competition for beginner to intermediate players.

Playing tennis is popular with kids, teens and adults in the area with dozens of tennis courts for them to choose from that are located throughout the public parks, high schools and private clubs. The Woodlands Country Club offers a world-class private tennis center that boasts one of the most extensive collections of tennis courts in the Houston area with twenty one first-rate courts including ten outdoor har-tru clay courts, seven outdoor Laykold hard courts and four indoor courts to enjoy tennis rain or shine.

There are plenty of private tennis facilities in The Woodlands including the tennis complex at the Club at Carlton Woods that offers six championship hard tennis courts that are very well-lit.
