*I AM ONLY CURRENTLY TEACHING LESSONS TO AGES 12 & UP*
Hello my name is Ryan and I am a local Wichita tennis coach with over 16 years of playing experience and over 12 years of teaching experience! I started playing tennis in middle school and played varsity tennis all four years of high school. I won state as a doubles player my senior year in Colorado. I was given a scholarship to play college tennis at Benedictine College located in Atchison, Kansas. After I graduated, I coached two years at Bishop Carroll High School in Wichita, Kansas. I am married and have 3 beautiful children (2 girls and 1 boy) & I’m currently a 1st grade teacher in Wichita. I am looking to give tennis lessons during the summer time and during the school year at times after school & weekends throughout the Wichita area.
I have a general all around approach to my tennis lessons. I like to begin with about 5-10 minute warm-up where we hit back and forth and loosen up. I then tend to go over a few things that I would like to work on, give an example and then we practice that skill for about 10-15 minutes. My specialty would have to be ground strokes as well as volleys (especially since I was a strong doubles player in high school and college). Depending upon who I am working with will determine the intensity of the lesson. If I am working with a new student to the game, I will be much more relaxed and patient, while I’ll expect much more out of a tennis student who is looking to improve to make their particular team or improve there current skill set. My main goal on the court is to help you improve your overall tennis skill set and also to help you grow to love the great game of tennis as much as I do. I teach tennis lessons in the Wichita area at Sunset Park, Harvest Park, Edgemoor Park, Buffalo Park and I will travel up to 10 miles to you!
