About Joe
Hello my name is Joe and I am a local Mission Viejo tennis coach in Southern Orange County with over 35 years of playing experience and over 15 years of teaching experience with 2 of them being at a prominent local academy that saw hundreds of students each day all with different skill levels. I have played on various teams in Irvine and RSM. I’m still a competitive player with a regular training schedule & have won tournaments, both singles & doubles, at different ratings.
Tennis is a challenging sport which requires ease of flow married with complex nuero-physical functions. After viewing hundreds of students daily and watching how the mind works, I have come up with a system that breaks down each movement precisely into zen-like focus steps which then really promotes accelerated learning.
One of the perks I also offer is isolation of the mental component. As a competing player and having been in the corporate world as well, I understand the variables that we can bring onto the court and how it affects the sight of the ball. Sounds simple, but in reality not quite so. How many of us have tried to be happy, consistently? One thing can happen and you are back ruminating about the event, which then affects other parts of the playing field, which we call life. “But Coach Joe, I just wanted to know how to hit a forehand?” Yes, I cover that and the parts of your mind that will keep retention, focus and clarity. Whether you learn best through sight, sound or feel, I can be very flexible and adapt your tennis lesson out on the court to your senses.

I teach in the Mission Viejo area but will travel up to 20 miles to a court near you, depending on traffic and time of day. I offer private, semi-private, group and hitting sessions for all levels of play. Private Tennis Lessons (1 Player): $65 Per Hour
Singles Hitting Session (No Coaching): $50 Per Hour
Semi-Private Lessons (2 Players): $45 Per Hour Each
Group Tennis Lessons (3+ Players): $30 Per Hour Each
8 week course (+1 free lesson, 9 total) (no refund) for singles: $520
