Hello my name is Travis and I’m a fun, local Lake Forest tennis coach with over 18 years of playing experience & over 10 years of teaching experience! I am also currently a PTR Certified Tennis Professional. My tennis career started at the very young age of ten when my mom dragged me to my first tennis lesson (well not dragged). From there I fell in love with the sport. I had tennis lessons at Lake Forest Sun & Sail Club and learned the fundamentals of the game. At the club I started playing junior tennis tournaments. Then I moved to the old Vic Braden Tennis Academy located in Coto De Caza and advanced my tennis game to a whole new level. My game grew because I was home schooled and could play five hours a day. When high school came along, I then went to El Toro High School & played #1 singles.
I continued playing tennis at Saddleback College where I played #2 & #3 singles as well as doubles. My game progressed especially on the mental side. After Saddleback College, I then continued adult tournaments and started training with my coach and roommate, tennis coach Hanley Ernst, whom was introduced to me at college. He has taught me more then I could of ever imagined. My strokes and knowledge of the game before him were good, but then after training with him, they became more professional quality. Besides strokes, he taught me how to train better, to eat better and much more. I became a confident, well rounded tennis coach and am now able to pass on the technique and mental game to my own students.
I was an assistant tennis coach at San Juan Hills High School, group and camp tennis instructor at Ladera Ranch Tennis Club and I was also a group and hitting tennis instructor at Racquet Club of Irvine. Now I specialize in private tennis lessons where I help my students by recording their technique so they can visualize their game and they can become the player they want to be. I teach tennis lessons locally in Lake Forest and do not travel to other locations at this time.
