Hello my name is Martin and I am a fun, local Vallejo tennis coach with over 50 years of tennis playing experience and over 15 years of tennis teaching experience! I love tennis. I love playing, watching and talking tennis. I have played tennis all of my life from USTA juniors, to college at San Francisco State, to USTA adult leagues. I worked at Diamond Hill Tennis Club (Oakley, California) as a teaching pro, I was an assistant tennis coach over at the University of San Francisco and Diablo Valley College, the head tennis coach (boys and girls) over at Alhambra High School in Martinez and I am currently the JV tennis coach (boys and girls) for San Ramon Valley High School in Danville.
My mission is to provide my tennis students with the knowledge on how to play this difficult game of tennis while having fun learning. I teach all levels and ages. I am great with kids and beginners. I am patient, knowledgeable, encouraging and passionate. My teaching methodology is centered around footwork: “It doesn’t matter how well you can strike the ball, if you’re not balanced or in position on the tennis court then your strokes are compromised.” I specialize on analyzing stroke mechanics and clear communication on execution. I teach tennis lessons locally in the Danville and Martinez area and I do not currently travel to any other teaching locations at this time.
