About Richmond Tennis Coach Garlund

Hello my name is Garlund and I am local Richmond tennis coach with over 35 years of playing experience and over 10 years of teaching experience! I am also a RSPA Certified Tennis Professional and I am Safe Play approved as well as CPR/AED certified. I am from New York City and have been playing tennis since I was a teenager. I volunteer at the US Men’s Clay Courts Championship-it’s my way of giving back to the game I love so much. I am the captain of USTA league teams, have a winning record in league sectionals and I am an experienced racquet stringer. I currently have been working as a tennis pro at The Briar Club for over 3 years and I am the administrator of Sugar Land Tennis Group on Facebook. When asked, I will always provide a tip to improve a stroke or offer a tactical solution for winning a point. When not I am not playing or teaching tennis, I love to cook for my family. I teach tennis lessons in the Richmond area but I will also travel up to 30 miles to a tennis court that is conveniently located close to you!

I very much enjoy Garlund's teaching style, personality, and appreciate his patience. Each week we work on different things : ground strokes, volleys, rallies, etc. I definitely find one on one instruction is the most useful and with Garlund I definitely feel like I am improving, slowly by surely.
