About Rafa

Hi my name is Rafa and I am a fun, local Las Vegas tennis coach with over 22 years of playing experience and over 9 years of coaching experience teaching tennis players of all levels from beginner to college Division 1. I was formerly ranked #37 in the United States in Boys 18 & I was ranked #1 in the Southern California men’s division.

I played Division 1 college tennis at Cal Poly SLO. I can work on any stroke from the serve (kick, slice, flat), forehand, backhand, forehand volley, backhand volley, overhead smash and everything in between which includes footwork, strategy and variations of each of the shots mentioned. I have taken several courses on technique and strategy all over the world with masterminds like Steve Smith, Matts Wilander and numerous college coaches throughout the United States as well as Germany, Brazil and Canada. My most notable wins were against players such as Taylor Fritz (ATP Tour Top 10 Rank), Ulysses Blanch (former junior world #1) & Vincent Lin (former #1 at Duke University).

I am offering fun private tennis lessons, semi-private tennis lessons, group tennis lessons & hitting only sessions for all ages (kids, teens, adults, seniors) & all skill levels (beginner, intermediate, advanced).

I teach tennis lessons in the Las Vegas area at Hidden Palms Park but I am also willing to travel up to 10 miles to a court close to you.
