Hello my name is Coby and I am a fun, local Danville tennis coach with over 20 years of playing experience as well as over 10 years of teaching experience! I am also a USTA Certified Tennis Professional. I am a former division 1 tennis player who played for the Pacific Tigers for four consecutive years. I really enjoy helping players of all ages reach the next level and at the same time making it fun for them as well. I like to first set my students up with the proper technique and form while going over the basics if they are just getting started. For advanced players, they will be doing a lot of hitting live ball drills with focus on a specific area for their development. I usually cater my drilling to the player’s skill level and if they have certain things they want to work on, I’ll be sure to tailor my drills around it as well. I have worked with players from young beginner kids to advanced adults and I excel in improving their level significantly. Some more about me is I started playing tennis when I was 6 years old and grew a passion for the sport competing at the national and international level too. I played singles and doubles at the Division 1 level and I like playing both equally. My best shots are my forehand and serve. However, I am able to teach players how to hit and improve their forehands, backhands, serves, volleys, overheads, slices. Not only will they be able to hit these shots, but also know the strategies and how to mentally approach it as well since it is a very individual sport. I’m looking forward to helping you get better! I teach tennis lessons in the Danville area but I will travel up to 15 miles to a court near you!
