About Filippo

Hello my name is Filippo and I am a local Charlotte tennis coach with over 12 years of playing experience! I started playing tennis in Italy at around 10 years old. I have played in many sports growing up-soccer & tennis being the main ones. I played for the “Antiche Mura” tennis club in Italy until I came to the US for my senior year of high school.

I earned a scholarship to play tennis for “The Kiski School”, a prep school in Pennsylvania. I was then awarded a scholarship to play tennis for Queens University of Charlotte which was Division II NCAA when I joined. We won the SAC conference (regular season and the conference tournament) my sophomore year & we then transitioned to Division I NCAA, joining the Asun conference. I played number 5 and 6 singles. I am now redshirting to save my eligibility to play for a MBA. I have been coaching in the US and in Italy (during summer) for over 4 years now. I’ve taught all types from players from beginners, to intermediate and to advanced players from age 4 to 70. I coach at Lake Norman Racket Club and the Olde Providence Tennis Academy.

I am offering fun private tennis lessons, semi-private tennis lessons, group tennis lessons and hitting only sessions for all ages (kids, teens, adults, seniors) and for all skill levels (beginner, intermediate, advanced). So whether you need to work on some specifics like your forehand, backhand, volley, serve, service return, overhead, drop shot, approach shot, footwork, singles strategy or doubles strategy-I would be more than happy to help you out with your tennis game!

I teach tennis lessons in the Charlotte area at Freedom Park/Queens Sports Complex but I will travel up to 5 miles to a court close to you.

Semi-Private Tennis Lessons (2 Players): $40 Per Hour Each
Group Tennis Lessons (3+ Players): $20 Per Hour Each
Hitting Only Sessions (1 Player): $40 Per Hour

*Please note that if you are interested in semi-private tennis lessons (2 players) or group tennis lessons (3+ players), you will first need to find a friend(s) to take tennis lessons with you before contacting me.
