The capital city of Nashville, Tennessee has long been known as the “Songwriting Capital of the World” and a hub for both country music and the wonderful game of tennis. Nashville is proud to be the home of the Music City Tennis Invitational which is the longest running music related charity tennis tournament in the country.

All of the proceeds from this very special event benefit the Center For Child Development at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt. This non-profit organization has been making a huge difference by serving children and saving lives since 1973. This exciting tournament is open to all players from beginners to pros and provides doubles team tennis for all levels of play. This city is also proud of their own Nashville native, Brian Baker, who is a professional American tennis player that has several accomplishments from winning his first Grand Slam at the US OPEN in 2005 to making it to the fourth round of the 2012 Wimbledon Tennis Championship.

Born in Nashville, Brian Baker turned professional at 18 in 2003-a 6 foot 3 baseliner who could hit the cover off the ball. Nashville is not only a breeding ground for some of America’s most popular and iconic music, but for some great pro tennis players as well.
