About Russell
Hi my name is Coach Russell and I am a local Roslyn Estates tennis coach with over 30 years of playing experience and over 20 years of teaching experience with lessons, drills, cardio tennis and running clubs! From 2010 to 2017, I was the Head Pro at Kings Point Indoor Tennis. The job required me to run drills, teach juniors, privates, semi privates, sell seasonal court time & also coordinate women’s teams.
From 2011 to the present, I have been the Head Tennis Professional at Roslyn Estates Tennis Club and my responsibilities are the same as they were at my previous club. As a player, I grew up training at my parents indoor tennis club in Great Neck and also Port Washington tennis academy. I was a sectional ranked junior player in the east and was in the top 10 in the 16’s and 18’s. I earned a scholarship to SDSU (South Dakota State University), but then decided to play at Queens College which is a Division 1 school. After college, I continued to play in and run several tournaments each year in Roslyn Estates. In 2015, I was the top ranked men’s 30’s tennis player in the east as well as the second ranked men’s 25’s tennis player in the east also at that time.
I am offering fun private tennis lessons, semi-private tennis lessons, group tennis lessons and hitting only sessions for all ages (kids, teens, adults, seniors) and all skill levels (beginner, intermediate, advanced). I only teach tennis lessons at my club in Roslyn Estates but will travel up to 15 miles for an additional fee (please contact me).

Summer Tennis Camp:
I am now offering an afternoon summer tennis camp Monday-Friday at The Tennis King in Roslyn Estates. Tennis camp will begin at the end of June and is offered as daily or weekly sessions. I have over 20 years experience as a junior tennis coach and have worked with tournament through beginner caliber players. The tennis camp is available for children ages 9-15 and players of all levels are welcome. The tennis camp with consist of stroke development & fundamental progression, games and match play. Please feel free to contact me with any questions that you may have regarding rates & availability.
*Please note that if you are interested in semi-private tennis lessons (2 players) or group tennis lessons (3+ players), you will first need to find a friend(s) to take tennis lessons with you before contacting me.
