About Dave

Hello my name is Dave and I am a Redondo Beach tennis coach with over 48 years of playing experience and over 45 years of teaching experience! I am also a local USPTA Certified Tennis Professional.

I started playing tennis at age 11 in Colorado and then won the 16 & under state championship, was ranked #3 in the 18 & under and then moved to Los Angeles in 1976. I won the Manhattan Open twice and have been ranked in the Top 20 in Southern California along with being ranked 30th in the U.S. Men’s 30’s. I have worked with tennis players such as Trevor Dobson (#1 Pennisula High U.C.I), Samantha Smith (University of Washington), Kystal Langley (#1 at Mira Costa in 2008), Bea Palilie (#1 North High) and Breanna Morgan (the 2009 Manhattan Women’s Champion at age 15). Tournament level tennis players can expect to see improvement and I am very good with understanding what a player needs to do to improve whether it’s technique, conditioning, mental toughness or working on strategy.

I am offering fun private tennis lessons, semi-private tennis lessons, group tennis lessons and hitting only sessions for all ages (kids, teens, adults, seniors) and all skill levels (beginner, intermediate, advanced). I’m available to give tennis lessons at multiple outdoor locations in the South Bay area and I can also travel up to 10 miles.
