About Rich
Hello my name is Rich and I am a local Kingwood tennis coach with over 40 years of playing experience and over 34 years of teaching experience! I started playing tennis at the age of 8 and have been trained by tennis greats such as Nick Bollettieri and Harry Hopmann. At the age of 16, I was the national champion for Spain. I was ranked as one of the top junior players in Southern California & Florida and was one of the top junior players in the USTA (United States Tennis Association) for singles and doubles. During my junior career, I hit against legends like Michael Chang, Pete Sampras and Jim Courier.
It wasn’t a hard decision to go pro at the age of 18. I spent 3 years traveling throughout Europe on the ATP Satellite and Challenger professional circuit. My coaching career has taken me around the world. I have coached in numerous exclusive tennis clubs and hotels around Florida (Miami, Naples, the University of Miami alongside Kim Sands) and tennis clubs in Frankfurt, Ruesselsheim & Barsinghausen, Germany where I also played team tennis. My client roster includes ATP, WTA and NCAA level athletes that have gone on to play for the University of Florida, University of Miami, Florida State, University of Virginia, Alabama State University, Arizona State University, Boston College, Georgia Tech and California State University just to name a few. Whether you are looking to get into tennis or have been playing tennis for years, I have the skills necessary to improve your game.
Whether it is your game as a whole or just a particular stroke, serve or shot-working together we can get you to where you want to be. I can provide strategies for both singles and also doubles play. I can ensure that you will get out of your lesson what you are looking to accomplish while at the same time making it both fun & challenging!
I am offering fun private tennis lessons, semi-private tennis lessons and group tennis lessons for all ages (kids, teens, adults, seniors) and for all skill levels (beginner, intermediate, advanced). So whether you need to work on some specifics like your forehand, backhand, volley, serve, service return, overhead, drop shot, approach shot, footwork, singles strategy or doubles strategy-I would be happy to help you!
I teach tennis lessons in Kingwood at The Clubs of Kingwood but I also teach tennis lessons in The Woodlands area as well and I will travel up to 10 miles to a tennis court conveniently located near you.
