Hello my name is Sean and I am a fun, local Herndon tennis coach with over 11 years of playing experience and over 4 years of teaching experience! I competed on my high school varsity tennis team for all four years, serving as team captain and earning MVP honors. I also qualified for districts as a freshman and competed at a high level throughout my high school career. As a player with a disability who wears leg braces, I have had to develop my very own approach to movement, strategy, and competing at a high level. Rather than allowing those challenges to limit my game, I have learned how to build strategies around my strengths and use smart shot selection, consistency, and court awareness to compete against stronger and more experienced players. I have developed a playing strategy that has allowed me to successfully compete with and beat Division lll college-level players. As a coach, I focus on making tennis enjoyable while helping players understand the “why” behind each tennis shot.
Whether I’m working with a beginner learning their first strokes or a more experienced player looking to improve their game, I aim to create a positive environment where players can build confidence, stay active, and see measurable improvement. My goal is to help players develop not only better tennis skills, but also the confidence and problem-solving mindset that tennis has taught me throughout my own journey. I teach tennis lessons in the Herndon area but I will also travel up to 15 miles to a tennis court that is located near you!
