*I AM NOT CURRENTLY TAKING ANY NEW TENNIS STUDENTS*
Hello my name is Wayne and I am a local Denver tennis coach with over 25 years of playing experience and over 18 years of teaching experience! I am also a USPTA Certified Tennis Professional. I grew up on Long Island in New York, where most of my family still resides and then I moved to Denver about 7 years ago. My father had been a coach and student of the game and taught me the fundamentals at a very young age. Growing up, my father taught tennis part time and had tennis as a part of our lives and he was even a collegiate tennis coach for about 10 years after he left the corporate world toward the end of his career. I have been playing tennis since I was about five years old and have not looked back. I never had any aspirations (or frankly the skill) of turning pro, but just fell in love with the sport that my family was so passionate about. I continued playing throughout school, turning my tennis into a scholarship where I played Division 3 at Muhlenberg College and captained my college team my junior and senior year. I still play in the USTA (United States Tennis Association) leagues at about a 5.0 USTA level, both singles and doubles. There is nothing like the competitiveness the great game of tennis brings!
I began teaching tennis as early as 15 and have continued teaching ever since. I have taught everyone from little children all the way up to teens and also adults in international competition. Most recently, I coached at the Maccabi games in Santiago, Chile where we brought home the gold and a few silvers. I have now been teaching in Denver since moving but took a 1 year hiatus to raise our new baby and I’m now looking to get back into the swing of things (pun intended)! I do have a full-time job outside of tennis coaching, but I love just being out there on the tennis court and just helping those who share my passion of tennis. My coaching style is however you want it to be. I can be laid back while teaching the fundamentals or really intense with a focus on footwork, strategy as well as the mental aspects of the game. Regardless of level, I just want my students to have fun!
I am offering fun private tennis lessons, semi-private tennis lessons, group tennis lessons and hitting only sessions for all ages (kids, teens, adults, seniors) and for all skill levels (beginner, intermediate, advanced). So whether you need to work on some specifics like your forehand, backhand, volley, serve, service return, overhead, drop shot, approach shot, footwork, singles strategy or doubles strategy-I would be more than happy to help you out with your tennis game!
I teach fun tennis lessons in the Denver area at James A Bible Park, Eisenhower Park and Washington Park and will travel up to 10 miles.
Please contact me through my FindTennisLessons.com coach page and then I will contact you back within 24 hours to introduce myself, answer any questions and if you are interested, we’ll set-up your first tennis lesson or hitting session at a time and place that is convenient for you. I look forward to hearing from you and I look forward to the opportunity to be your Denver tennis coach. See you on the court!
